Local councils have until 3 March 2017 to enter the Federal Government's annual awards for innovative local government projects.
These awards recognise innovative projects which provide new or improved local government services to regional and rural communities.
Projects can range from infrastructure and environmental, to regional growth and art projects.
The national winner in 2016 was Mackay Regional Council in Queensland, for its "Transforming a Water Business" project.
Category winners will be announced in mid-April 2017 and the national winner will be announced at the Australian Local Government Association National General Assembly dinner in June 2017.
